A quantity of pricey GM models had been stolen from the Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet dealership in east Charlotte, North Carolina on February five.

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department says that a gang of thieves smashed their way into the dealership at about midnight. The thieves then stole the essential fobs to numerous automobiles and created off with a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, a 2021 Dodge Challenger, a black 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, and a white 2020 Jeep Compass Trailhawk.

Speaking with WBTV, Detective Rick Smith of the CMPD Crime Stoppers stated the thieves may possibly attempt to sell the automobiles or some of their components.

“Once they located those key fobs, they actually came outside the business and took the vehicles,” he stated. “We can’t definitively say how organized they are, but we would like to get these individuals identified and get them into custody. They’re going to drive them around as long as they can. They may even try to sell some of the cars or some of the parts.”

Security cameras littered all through the dealership captured photos of the thieves, revealing that they hadn’t even covered their faces. While police do not think the theft was an inside job, they say that the group most likely had prior information of the dealership offered how speedily they had been in a position to find the keys.

The Hendrick Automotive Group is supplying up to $ten,000 in reward income for details about the theft.
