Porsche is mentioned to be functioning on a new hybrid powertrain with a V4 engine as its centerpiece and although its plans for the engine are not clear, it is definitely an exciting improvement.

Information about the V4 hybrid comes courtesy of an unnamed supply who not too long ago spoke with CarBuzz. We have been unable to confirm the identity of this supply so recommend taking what is to comply with with a grain of salt. Carscoops reached out to Porsche Cars North America solution communications manager Frank Wiesmann about the report. He mentioned, “As a matter of policy, we don’t participate in speculation about potential future product.”

The report claims that Porsche is testing the V4 hybrid in a Porsche 911 prototype. This engine is derived from the V4 that was utilized to wonderful achievement in the Porsche 919 Hybrid endurance racer, exactly where it created 720 hp on its personal although the hybrid technique of the 919 Hybrid Evo added an further 440 hp.
