A 25-year-old man from Murrieta, California is in jail following allegedly stealing more than $1 million worth of luxury cars. Authorities say that the man rented at least six cars from the identical couple and then attempted to sell them. Now he’s facing severe charges and a lengthy remain in jail.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office stated on Friday that Kendall Clark rented the cars back in September. Prosecutors claim that Clark then title-washed the VIN numbers of the cars in query and resold them. These weren’t each day rental vehicles either.

The DA says Clark stole a Lamborghini Urus, a Lamborghini Huracan, a Porsche Cayenne, a Chevrolet Corvette, a Jeep Wrangler, and a BMW i8. Combined, the cars are stated to be worth in excess of seven figures. How Clark anticipated to get away with the crime is unknown.

Evidently the true owners, a couple in Lake Matthews, reported the vehicles stolen following Clark didn’t return them at the finish of his rental agreement. That’s when they discovered out that the vehicles had been no longer in their names. The Riverside Auto-Theft Interdiction Detail went to perform on the case and positioned all of the vehicles across the nation.

Then, on October 18th, it discovered Clark in San Diego and arrested him. It’s because returned all of the cars to the owners. Clark pled ‘not guilty’ on October 20th to charges such as embezzlement and auto theft. He has a felony settlement conference on October 30th scheduled.

For now, he’s in the Southwest Detention Center on $250,000 bail. Police think he may be involved in other crimes that it is investigating and ask that any individual with data get in touch with Detective Matt Guzzino at 951-290-1923. This is far from the 1st time that we’ve heard of a comparable title-washing scheme.

In the final couple of months, Carvana has popped into the news for promoting stolen cars that had been similarly forged titles. Perhaps if Clark had attempted this with each day vehicles it would’ve been simpler to get away with it.
